Itinerary
You will be met by our local representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Phuentsholing (165 Kms/ 05 Hrs). On arrival in Phuentsholing, met by our representative, after clearing immigration formalities, check in at the Hotel. Later in the evening explore the local market. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing
After the breakfast, proceeding to Thimphu. The drive to Thimphu is very scenic, once we climb up from the Indian plain to Bhutan foot hills through beautiful forest, towns and road side villages. Our drive will pass through Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom before emerging ourselves into the only multi culture city in Bhutan. Check into the hotel, evening we will explore the city by walk. Overnight in Thimphu, 2300m.
In the morning we will visit Handmade paper mill, School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. We will also visit nearby folk heritage museum and National Library before lunch. After lunch, drive pass by Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King. Visit Buddha viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery. Overnight in Thimphu.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro &Ta-Dzong –National Musuem of Bhutan.
Or
After breakfast go for a day excursion to Chele-la pass. Later drive back to Paro.
Overnight at Hotel.
In the morning, we will hike to Tiger’s Nest Temple, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley at 900m above the valley floor. The temple is associated with Guru Rimpoche who visited in 8th century and believed to have meditated three months in this cave and converted entire valley into Buddhism. It is 2 hours walk up hill for an average hiker; however, it can take us almost entire day too. Evening back to the hotel and relax. Overnight in Paro
After our breakfast we will retrace our scenic drive back to Phuentsholing. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and drive to Bagdogra Airport/ NJP station to board the train/ flight to fly back home
